Zambales Day 3: A Paradise within your Reach

We don’t have any activity on our last day, so BF and I just roam around the resort. Indeed, as what I had said on the first post about Zambales, the resort is really huge. It was so huge that some parts of the resort were not maintained. It has two pools so other hotel guests can swim without going too far from their hotel room. The resort also has two storey rooms that is good for a family of five or six. It also has a restaurant, but it was closed during our visit. The small chapel was also closed that time.

Greetings from the resort
Certainly, the resort has picture perfect spots. Also, the place is nice for reflecting and soul-searching since it has a relaxing ambience. I actually don’t know the rates here since it was free and it was a package already from an agency. Overall, I am recommending this place since it is near the islands and we had a very nice stay for three days.

Zambales Day 2: A Paradise within your Reach

We left the resort around 8:30AM to start our island hopping. Three islands were planned to be visited but for some reasons, the boatmen decided not to pursue going to Nagsasa. Instead, we went straight ahead to Capones Island.

Capones Island has a lot of big, not just big but HUGE rocks! Rock formation there is somehow similar to that of Palawan. But ofcourse nothing beats the sand in Palawan for me! According to Google, it has a lighthouse, but we weren’t able to visit it that time because we didn’t stay that long in the island. Actually only me and BF decided to roam around the beach and went farther. When we came back, they were already going back to the boat and just waiting for us to come back.

Afterwards, we headed to Anawangin Island. Actually I was really excited going there since I heard a lot of good things about Anawangin. On our way, the view reminds me of New Zealand (although I haven’t been there! hahahha)

We arrived at Anawangin I think it was 10AM. The sand was also fine, but not that fine like Boracay or Palawan. Since it December, there were less tourist and campers. But still, the sun’s heat is tolerable and the sea is calling us to take a dip! Woot woot!

i hope someday we will have a little angel like this

We took our packed lunch there and stayed until 2PM. If you don’t have food with you, there’s a store in the island that sells food and drinks. Due to laziness, we didn’t climb the mountain there that can have an overlooking of the whole anawangin island. We just swam and swam and relaxed.
We’re back in the hotel before 3PM. Since it is still early, we slept for a while but woke up in time for the sunset.

Dinner time came and upon ordering, the waiter told us that it’s the owner’s daughter birthday. So everyone, from the employees to the guests was invited for a free dinner. At first we were hesitant, but since it’s free and the owner already invited us personally, we went and enjoyed the night with the owners and other guests.

Again, I don’t have any pictures of the dinner. I just enjoyed the food and I was really amazed of the hospitality and kindness of the owner, especially the love for his only child. FYI, the owners were both Filipinos. How did they got rich? Some say they won the lottery. Lucky? I guess they’re blessed.

After dinner, since it’s our last night, we had a drinking session. BF’s father loves to drink beer! But I didn’t drunk, actually I haven’t been drinking for a long time and my stomach is not familiar with beers or alcohol anymore. Since I was not drinking, I just told BF and family that I’ll be sleeping already to get ready for Day 3. hahaha

Zambales Day 1: A paradise within your Reach

Every December, my boyfriend’s family would find time to go out and bond with each other since this is the time that Ate Bhabie, which is my BF’s older sister, would go home here in the Philippines to have a vacation. Last year, the family decided to go to Zambales, to visit the famous Anawangin, Capones and Nagsasa islands. Luckily, I was asked to come along with the family. Feeling like a part of the family already (hopefully!), I packed my bags and came along!

We left Muntinlupa around 7AM in the morning of December 27; this is the day after my BF’s birthday. I thought travel would not be that long since we have a private van, but I was wrong! I don’t know if it’s because of the driver not knowing some shortcuts and driving too slow or because it’s somehow traffic. Well I might just think it’s because of the two reasons. Hhaha!

We had two stopovers, one was when we were on NLEX and the second was on the city of Zambales. We had taken breakfast on the first stopover and ate lunch in Mang Inasal on the second stopover. We are going to stay at Punta de Uian Resort. The place is hard to find since it is located inside Pundaquit. I mean, we went through a very, very long road with cows blocking our way! The cow part was really funny because we can’t just passed through them since the mother cow gets angry and looks at us very irritated. After 15 minutes, the cows move on the side of the road giving way to us.

We arrived at Punta de Uian Resort around 1 PM. The place is indeed huge! It’s very nice that I fell in love at first sight! Hahaha. Anyways, I don’t know what’s the name of the room we occupied, but it’s beachfront which I find very relaxing.  The room was a mixed of modern and ethnic style (as for me)WIFI is not that strong from our room, we have to go to the restaurant to have the best signal. Here are some pictures of our room.

After settling our belongings, we went to the beach. I think the beach cannot be swum at; no one was taking a dip on the beach during our whole stay. Also, no one was walking and enjoying the view of the beach that time that made us feel like we own the place.

We had our dinner ordered and have it delivered to us by the staff. The dinner didn’t arrived immediately that’s why BF and me went to their restaurant to follow-up. It gave me a chance to take some pictures of the restaurant.

i love the stairs!
Dinner came after we followed-up. We ate at the terrace overlooking the beach. This is life! Pardon me for not having a lot of pictures of the food as I was enjoying the moment with my BF’s family.

We called it a day and sleep early because the next day will be our island hopping!
